People on the Move

David Stiers has been appointed general manager of Olympic Steel’s Iowa Division in Bettendorf, Iowa. He had been president of True Position Manufacturing, Inc., a metal manufacturing and fabricating company in Davenport, Iowa.

Jim Farnan has been promoted to director of procurement for Chicago Tube & Iron, Romeoville, Ill. He is working with Larry Soehrman to assure a smooth transition in advance of Soehrman’s retirement at the end of May. Also, Sean Vitti has been promoted to general manager of CTI Romeoville, where he will oversee the branches at the headquarters and Cleveland locations.

Koike Aronson, Arcade, N.Y., has promoted President and COO James McAulliffe, Jr., to CEO. He will replace Jerry Leary, who is retiring from the company he has led since 2002. McAulliffe joined Koike, a manufacturer of welding positioners and cutting machines, in 2016.

U.S. Steel Corp., Pittsburgh, has promoted Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer David Burritt to president and chief operating officer. He will be responsible for day-to-day operations. Current President Mario Longhi will remain CEO, focusing on the company’s strategic vision.

Chemcoaters, the Gary, Ind., supplier of green coil coatings, has promoted Mike Tieri to vice president of sales and marketing.
