Mitsubishi Launches
Next Generation of Popular Laser
Mitsubishi Laser has introduced the next generation of its best-selling laser, the LVPLUS. The New LVPLUSII combines several new performance-enhancing features with the productivity features from the original machine, the company claims.

The machine’s new 40CF-R resonator technology reduces rise time/fall time of square wave pulse. This provides a more consistent beam power during the cutting process and delivers a more brilliant and consistent edge quality, Mitsubishi claims. Additionally, the uniform low current discharge provides low power stability for improved micro machining and etching.

The LVPLUSII delivers new Brilliantcut technology, which can produce a cutting surface roughness equivalent to the typical machined finish. Brilliantcut provides optimal processing conditions, reduced taper and reduced discoloring on the heat-affected zone.

Magnetic Coolant Cleaners
Extend Life of Machinery
Eriez, Erie, Pa., offers Magnetic Coolant Cleaners that provide extraction of ferrous particles from coolant used in grinding and metal-cutting operations. These powerful ceramic and rare-earth magnetic coolant cleaners extend life of coolant, cutting tools, grinding wheels, pumps and other filtering devices, the company claims. Radial-design magnetic circuits extract ferrous particles to help meet tolerances and improve surface finish.

The coolant cleaners are designed for use with surface grinders, gear grinders, honing and lapping machines, broaches, milling and drilling machines, face grinders and oil reclaiming machines.

Eriez’s permanent ceramic magnetic indexing units, available with either a smooth-faced or extended-pole roll, can be used when both ferrous and non-ferrous contaminants are present. Non-indexing models are designed for applications where little or no non-magnetic contaminants are present in the coolant.

Winch Boom Adds Functionality to Forklift
The Caldwell Group Inc., Rockford, Ill., offers the Winch Boom, said to turn a forklift into a portable crane. The Winch Boom combines the reach of a forklift boom with the precise lifting of a winch, adding value and functionality to a lift truck. Winch Boom fits standard forklift trucks and is an economical alternative to an overhead or gantry crane. It is available in fixed, telescopic and pivoting telescopic models with winch hook capacities of 2,000 or 2,400 pounds. Standard operation is 110-volt electrical, with optional DC or hydraulic winch operation available on any model.

Free-Standing Custom Cranes
Have Capacities Up to 3 Tons
Konecranes Americas, Springfield, Ohio, offers the K-Trac line of free-standing custom cranes. K-Trac custom crane systems are said to provide a cost-effective lifting solution designed to customer specifications with lifting capacities up to three tons.

The K-Trac crane system can be customized to accommodate design specifications that include runway and bridge length, post and hook height, and the location of electrical input. In addition, every K-Trac is modular, allowing for easy modification and reconfiguration in the field. The K-Trac maximizes the use of limited work areas. The raised bridge end provides maximum lift in restricted spaces such as low ceilings and elevated obstructions.
